Taikonaut的來源
1999年11月21日中國成功發(fā)射“神舟號”無人宇宙飛船，世界各大媒體爭相報道這個消息。在英文
的有關中國不久就會發(fā)射載人宇宙飛船的報道中，第一次使用了Taikonaut，特指即“中國宇航員”
或“中國太空人”。
據稱，馬來西亞的趙里昱（Chiew Lee Yin）在1998年3月創(chuàng)造了“Taikonaut”(太空人)一英文詞，
并首先在某個網絡科技論壇里使用。差不多同時，陳藍（Chen Lan,音）在其“Go Taikonaut”的網
頁里使用它。這個詞普遍被西方媒體用來稱呼中國的太空人?！癟aikonaut”由“太空”的漢語拼音
“taikong”和“船員”的英文縮寫“naut”（或“航行者”的希臘文“naus”，“宇航員”的英文
“Astronaut”刪節(jié)組成。但在中國官方所發(fā)布的稿件中，多半堅持使用更帶技術性的名詞“航天員
”（astronaut），意思為“太空航行者”。）

神五上天后，BBC、NYtime等知名媒體均使用了這一單詞，它體現了中國航天事業(yè)的巨大進步。
