Language points
1.I am entering a competition.
我正參加一個比賽。
enter表示“參加，報名”。還表示“進(jìn)入”。
e.g.Several of the world's finest runners have entered the race.

ever表示“曾經(jīng)”。是現(xiàn)在完成時的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。通常用于一般疑問句中。
“Have/has sb.ever+過去分詞”，用于詢問某人過去的經(jīng)歷。
e.g.--Have you ever been to Paris?
    --No,never./Yes,I have.
    --你去過巴黎嗎？--沒有/去過。
4.But I can't afford it.但是我付不起。
afford（有財力）付得起，買得起
常與can，could，able to連用。
e.g.I just can't afford the time.
我花不起這個時間。
We can't afford to buy such an expensive car.我們買不起這么昂貴的汽車。
Afford可以帶雙賓語，或不定式。一般只能用于抽象事物，還可以特指經(jīng)濟(jì)能力。指“供給”，或能“付出”一定的時間，在這種意義上，只能接在can或be able to之后。
supply:
供給，供應(yīng)，提供(+to/for/with)
We supply power to the three nearby towns.
我們對附近的三個城鎮(zhèn)提供電力。
offer：
1.給予，提供；拿出，出示(+to) 2.意愿；試圖(做某事)[+to-v]
He offeres to lend me some books.
他表示要借給我?guī)妆緯?br> provide:
1.提供[(+for)]2.裝備，供給[(+with)]3.規(guī)定[(+that)]
Somehow she managed to provide her children with food and clothing.
她總算設(shè)法使她的孩子有飯吃，有衣穿。
5.I've stopped trying now.我已經(jīng)不再嘗試了。
stop doing sth.表示“停止正在做的事情”
stop to do sth.表示“停下來去做另件事”。
e.g.The two girls stopped talking when they saw me.
那兩個女孩一見到我就停止了講話。
The two girls stopped to talk to me when they saw me.
那兩個女孩一見到我就停下來和我講話。
6.That's  a pity.很遺憾！
pity表示“遺憾，可惜”。
That's a pity =It is a pity.=What a pity!
7.You can make it up.你可以遍（一個故事）。
make up  表示“編造；組成”。
e.g.The whole story is made up.
整個故事是虛構(gòu)出來的。
Farming and mining make up most of the country's industy.
農(nóng)業(yè)和礦業(yè)構(gòu)成這個國家的大部分產(chǎn)業(yè)。

invite sb.to do sth.
表示“邀請某人去做某事”。

現(xiàn)在完成時的定義：強(qiáng)調(diào)過去發(fā)生的動作對現(xiàn)在造成的影響和結(jié)果。
例如：
Betty went to the park yesterday.(強(qiáng)調(diào)去公園的動作發(fā)生在昨天)
Betty has been to the park before.(強(qiáng)調(diào)不僅去過公園，而且了解公園的狀況)
