①一般情況：+est（最高級）

②詞末為-e(不發(fā)音）+st
eg.fine --the finest
nice---the nicest
cute---cutest
close---the closest
white---the whitest
large--largest
free--freest(特殊）
③重讀閉音節(jié)（即輔音+元音+輔音），雙寫末尾大的輔音字母+est
eg:hot--the hottest  big--the biggest   red---the reddest   wet---the wettest   sad--the saddest   fat--the fattest    thin--the thinnest   fit--the fittest
④少數(shù)以輔音字母+y結(jié)尾的雙音節(jié) 原根詞：變?yōu)閕+est

當(dāng)主語是分數(shù)或百分數(shù)時，謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)由of后面的名詞決定，當(dāng)名詞是復(fù)數(shù)時，謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)。當(dāng)名詞是單數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞時，謂語動詞用單數(shù)。
