Nature reserves in China
Go through the article
1. Answer two questions
1) Where is Zhalong Nature Reserve?
2) What kinds of animals live there?
2. Guess the meanings of some new words.
             Zhalong-a special place
Zhalong Nature Reserve is in Heilongjiang Province in north-east China. It is one of the world's most important wetlands. The area provides food and cover for a lot of wildlife. It is a perfect place for some rare birds.
(Paragraph 1: About Zhalong Nature Reserve)
Many birds live in Zhalong all year round, while some go there only for a short stay. Most birds are active in the daytime, so you can easily watch them there. There are not many cranes left in the world, and 40 percent of them live in Zhalong.
(Paragraph 2: About birds in Zhalong)
Some people want to make the wetlands smaller in order to have more space for farms and buildings. This will lead to less and less space for wildlife. Moreover, fishermen keep fishing there. As a result, the birds do not have enough food to eat. Now the Chinese government has made laws to prevent all these things in Zhalong.
(Paragraph 3: Birds in Zhalong are in danger.)
Once a year, the members of our Birdwatching Club go to study the birds in zhalong. We record their types and changes in their numbers.
Every year, a lot of tourists go to Zhalong to watch the birds. We are now inviting them to help us. We need more people to count and describe the birds. We hope this will help people understand the importance of the wetlands.
(Paragraph 4: What the Birdwatching Society members do.)
(Paragraph 5: Most people can help count and describe the birds.)

不定式由“to+動(dòng)詞原形”構(gòu)成,其否定形式是“not/never to do”,不定式可以帶賓語(yǔ)或狀語(yǔ)構(gòu)成不定式短語(yǔ),沒(méi)有人稱(chēng)和數(shù)的變化,但有時(shí)態(tài)和語(yǔ)態(tài)的變化。
They ran over to welcome the delegates.
He bought a bicycle to go to town more quickly.
He went home to see his mother.
I stopped for him to speak to me.
He opened the door for the children to come in.
He brought a porter to carry the boxes/bags.
They sent a man to mend the window.
He stood up to be seen better.
梢栽诓欢ㄊ椒?hào)to之前加上in order或so as,如:
He came here in order to see Charlie.
He shouted and waved so as to be noticed.
He went early in order not to miss the train.
I turned the radio down so as not to disturb him.
To draw maps properly, you need a special pen.
(In order to draw maps properly, you need a special pen.)
To get the best results, use clean water.
Don't force yourself to write when you have nothing to say.
He believed the earth to be a globe.
Did you see a young man enter the house?
What do you desire me to do?
The director preferred her to act the old lady.
We mustn't let this happen again.
His father put him to mind the sheep.
He begged me not to tell his father about it.
She was always worrying her father to take her to Paris.
He urged us to accept the compromise.
The dentist advised me to have the bad tooth pulled out.
⑤含有“命令”“強(qiáng)迫”“禁止”等意義的動(dòng)詞,如:order,command,require,charge,tell,make,oblige,force,drive,forbid,warn等。
He required us to keep it a secret.
The doctor ordered him to stay in bed for a few days.
I warn you not to do that again.
