Language points
1.My past life 我過去的生活。
past  在句中用作形容詞，意思是“過去的”。如：
I was in my hometown during the past weeks.
過去的幾周里我呆在家鄉(xiāng)。

past 還可以用作名詞，意思是“昔日，過去，過去的事情“，是不可數(shù)名詞。如：
We can't change the past.
我們不能改變過去。
We know nothing about his past.
對于他們的過去我們一無所知。
另外past還可以用作介詞，意思是”經(jīng)過，過“。如：
Tom walks past my house every day when he goes to work.
湯姆每天上班時都從我家路過。
2.I was born in a small village in Shanxi Province.
我出生在山西省的一個小村莊里。
be born 意思是”出生“，常與一般過去時連用。
如：
I was born on a rainy day.
我出生于一個雨天。
另外，be born還可以用于將來時，表示”將要出生'。如：
Her baby will be born next month.
她的寶寶將在下個月出生。
注意：
be born后面通常接時間狀語或地點狀語。如：
My grandpa was born in 1940.
我的祖父出生于1940年。
John was born in Shanghai.
約翰出生在上海。
3.She was strict but very nice.她嚴厲卻很友好。
strict 是形容詞，意思是“嚴格的，嚴厲的”如：
Tony has a strict father.
托尼有位很嚴厲的朋友。
She is a strict teacher.Students respect and love her.
她是位嚴厲的老師，學生們都尊重她、愛戴她。

strict 還常用于以下短語：be strict with sb."對某人嚴格“；be strict in sth."對某事嚴格”。注意當賓語分別是“人”和“物”時，要用不同的介詞。如：“
Tony's father is very strict with him.
托尼的父親對他很嚴格。
We must be strict in our studies.
我們必須對學習嚴格要求。
4.She was very friendly.
friendly 雖然以-ly結(jié)尾i，但它是形容詞，表示”友好的“，常用于短語be friendly to sb.表示”對某人友好",其反義詞是unfriendly.如：
Our teacher always gives us a friendly smile when we meet her.
Lily is always friendly to her classmates.

be+adj.+to sb.表示“對某人...”。我們學過的此種結(jié)構(gòu)的短語還有：
