syllables
音節(jié)：在英語(yǔ)中一個(gè)元音可構(gòu)成一個(gè)音節(jié)，一個(gè)元音和一個(gè)或幾個(gè)輔音音素結(jié)合也可以構(gòu)成一個(gè)音節(jié)。一般說(shuō)來(lái)，元音可以構(gòu)成音節(jié)，輔音不響亮，不能構(gòu)成音節(jié)。但英語(yǔ)輔音字母中有4個(gè)輔音[m]，[n]，[ng]，[l]是響音，它們和輔音音素結(jié)合，可構(gòu)成音節(jié)。它們構(gòu)成的音節(jié)往往出現(xiàn)在詞尾，一般是非重讀音節(jié)。英語(yǔ)的詞有一個(gè)音節(jié)的，兩個(gè)音節(jié)的，多個(gè)音節(jié)的，一個(gè)音節(jié)叫單音節(jié)，兩個(gè)音節(jié)叫雙音節(jié)，三個(gè)音節(jié)一上叫多音節(jié)。如：take拿，table，potato，population。
劃分音節(jié)的方法：元音是構(gòu)成音節(jié)的主體，輔音是音節(jié)的分界線。
1、兩輔音之間不管有多少個(gè)元音，一般都是一個(gè)音節(jié)。如：bed，bet，seat，beat。
2、兩元音字母之間有一個(gè)輔音字母時(shí)，輔音字母歸后一音節(jié)，如：stu'dent學(xué)生，la'bour勞動(dòng)。有兩個(gè)輔音字母時(shí)，一個(gè)輔音字母歸前一音節(jié)，一個(gè)歸后一音節(jié)，如：let'ter，win'ter。
3、不能拆分的字母組合按字母組合劃分音節(jié)。如：fa'ther父親，tea'cher教師。
4、s結(jié)尾：dogs只有一個(gè)音節(jié)，因?yàn)橹挥幸粋€(gè)字母s出現(xiàn)的情況下，只發(fā)出一個(gè)子音的聲音，所以不分音。
5、es結(jié)尾：noses，es是個(gè)獨(dú)立的音節(jié)。
6、當(dāng)一個(gè)詞的結(jié)尾是-le，-el，-al時(shí)，加上這些前面的輔音湊成一個(gè)音節(jié)。如：ta-ble，lit-tle。
