a lot意為“許多；很；非?！?，常在句中作狀語，用來修飾動詞、形容詞等。如：

4.She spends a lot of money.
spend 意為“花費（時間、金錢等）；度過”，其后只能用動詞-ing形式，即spend...(in)doing sth;spend 后跟名詞時，要使用介詞on,即spend...on sth.如：
His father spends much money buying him lot of birthday presents.
他父親花了很多錢為他買許多生日禮物。
Her mother spends $400 on her bike.
媽媽花400元錢買她的自行車。
