1.appreciate
①.“欣賞,重視”
His talents are not fully appreciated in the company.
他的才干在公司未受到充分的賞識(shí)。

②.“感激,感謝”:“歡迎”
Your support is greatly appreciated.
十分感謝你的支持。
I don't appreciate being treated like that.
我不愿被人像那樣地對(duì)待。

③.“理解,意識(shí)到”
We didn't fully appreciate that he was seriously ill.
我們沒(méi)有充分認(rèn)識(shí)到他的病情很嚴(yán)重。

2.Sometimes they play to passers-by in the street…
復(fù)合名詞復(fù)數(shù)一般在主體名詞后加s
lookers-on 旁觀者
sons-in-law 女婿

※但是由man或woman構(gòu)成的合成詞,復(fù)數(shù)前后的詞都要加復(fù)數(shù)，
men-doctors/women-servants
若無(wú)主體名詞,則把s加在詞尾。

3.as well as “也,還”之用法:
①連接主語(yǔ)時(shí),謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞跟其前面主語(yǔ)保持一致
She as well as I is an English teacher.(是英語(yǔ)老師)
He as well as his friends is going shopping.

②連接并列成分,尤其是連接動(dòng)詞用法:
He publishes as well as prints his own books.
他的書(shū)是自己印刷并出版的。（時(shí)態(tài)）
She can sing as well as dance.
她既會(huì)跳舞也會(huì)唱歌。（情態(tài)動(dòng)詞）
You can't expect her to do the housework as well as look after the children.
你不可以叫她既照管孩子又做家務(wù)。（不定時(shí)）
