1.journey down the Mekong(p18)
沿湄公河而下的旅程
.由北向南，由西向東用down,反之用up；
.由城鎮(zhèn)向農(nóng)村時(shí)用down,反之用up；
.依門牌號(hào)碼，由大數(shù)字向小叔子行進(jìn)時(shí)，應(yīng)用down,反之用up；
.由上而下，沿著山坡而下，沿著江河順流而下，從樓上到樓下由住宅到街上；應(yīng)用down,反之用up；
2.Ever since middle school,my sister and I have dreamed about (talking a great bike trip).(p18)
ever since 從那以后
1）ever since 和since 引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句中，從句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞通常要用一般過(guò)去時(shí)，主句用現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)，且謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞要用延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞；ever since的強(qiáng)調(diào)以為更濃，“自從...就...”，而since 只表示“從...開(kāi)始”
Great changes have taken place here since he left.
我從孩童時(shí)就住在這兒。
I have lived here ever since I was a child.
2)ever since可單獨(dú)使用，與現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)連用，和表過(guò)去某一時(shí)刻的詞（組）同時(shí)出現(xiàn)在句中
她三年前畢業(yè)，從那時(shí)起一直當(dāng)老師。
She graduated three years ago and have worked as a teacher ever since.
從那以后，他就消失了。
He has disappeared ever since then.
since 的特殊用法：
It is/has been+一段時(shí)間+since 從句（過(guò)去式）自從...至今已經(jīng)很久了
我高中畢業(yè)已經(jīng)有兩年之久了。
It is/has been two years since I left high school.
It has been five years since he stopped smoking.
他戒煙已有五年了。
They asked me to have a drink with them.I said that it was at least ten years since I had enjoyed good drink.
conj.既然，因?yàn)椋◤木涑７啪涫祝?br> 既然大家都來(lái)了，讓我們開(kāi)會(huì)吧。

dream about/of (doing)sth.
夢(mèng)想/夢(mèng)見(jiàn)/向往做某事（后接n./pron/doing)
他年輕時(shí)向往著成為電影明星。
He dreamed of becoming a movie star when he was young.
Children often dream of (what they want to becaome)when they grow up.
(常用在否定句和疑問(wèn)句）想到，料到

3.presuade vt.說(shuō)服，勸說(shuō)（p18)
presuade sb.說(shuō)服某人
persuade sb. to do sth./into doing sth.說(shuō)服某人做某事
persuade sb. not to do sth./out of doing sth.說(shuō)服某人不做某事
他說(shuō)服了他的朋友。
He persuaded his friend.=Then she succeeded in asking me to buy one.
They persuaded me not to be angry with him.=They persuaded me out of being angry with him.
persuade sb.of sth.使某人相信某事
persuade sb. that-clause 勸某人相信...
湯姆使瑪麗相信他是真誠(chéng)的。Tom persuaded Mary of his sincerity.

persuasive adj.有說(shuō)服力的
persuasion n.說(shuō)服，主張
persuade 強(qiáng)調(diào)結(jié)果，勸說(shuō)成功、勸服
advise sb. to do=suggest to sb. to do=try to/want to persuade sb. to do 說(shuō)、勸而不服
(Some of us)advised him/suggested to him/tried to persuade him/wanted to persuade him (to change his mind)but no one could persuade him to do so/but he didn't listen to us.

1）列舉事物或論點(diǎn)時(shí)引出最后一項(xiàng)內(nèi)容如：
First,...Second,...Finally,...
2)用于動(dòng)詞前面，表示“等了好久才...”
我們等了又等，火車終于到底了。
We waited and waited,and the train finally arrived.
四個(gè)警察騎著摩托車過(guò)去了，電視直播車接著來(lái)了，最后來(lái)的是馬拉松賽跑選手。
Four policemen rode past on the motorbike,there came(the television broadcasting car),and finally the marathon runners.
final adj.最后的，最終的

final exam  n.（常用復(fù)數(shù)）決賽，期末開(kāi)始，結(jié)局
How are you prepared for your final?
at last 指經(jīng)過(guò)周折，等待，耽擱后的“最后，終于”得到所期待的結(jié)果。感情色彩濃重，如的不耐煩，你放心，不如愿等。
finally 常與at last 換用，都可用于對(duì)往事的描述，但finally不帶感情色彩。還可在列舉事物時(shí)用來(lái)引出最后一項(xiàng)內(nèi)容
in the end 與at last 同義，但in the end 不僅可指“過(guò)去”還可表示對(duì)“未來(lái)”的預(yù)計(jì)
(At last )I have obtained my wish.
He will be a scientist (in the end).
He tried many times,and (at last)succeeded.
5.It was my sister who first had(P18)the idea to cycle along the entire Mekong River (from here it begins to where it ends).
強(qiáng)調(diào)句的結(jié)構(gòu)是：It is/was +強(qiáng)調(diào)成分+hat-/who-分句
如果強(qiáng)調(diào)的部分是人，可用who,也可用that,強(qiáng)調(diào)其他成分與內(nèi)容都用that.
注意：強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間和地點(diǎn)不能用when或where,只用that.
根據(jù)上下文和語(yǔ)義意圖，說(shuō)話人可以通過(guò)強(qiáng)調(diào)句分別強(qiáng)調(diào)主語(yǔ)，賓語(yǔ)，狀語(yǔ)，使之成為信息中心。
He met me in the street.
①?gòu)?qiáng)調(diào)主語(yǔ)：
It was he who/that met me in the street.
②強(qiáng)調(diào)狀語(yǔ)：
It was in the street that he met me.
③強(qiáng)調(diào)賓語(yǔ)：
It was me who/whom/that he met in  the street.
My parents are determined to visit(China)next year.(強(qiáng)調(diào)賓語(yǔ)）
It is China that my parents are determined to visit next year.
Is it China that your parents are determined to visit next year?(一般疑問(wèn)句）

對(duì)特殊疑問(wèn)句強(qiáng)調(diào)的句式是：
疑問(wèn)詞+is/was it that+其余部分（陳述句序）
He didn't go back home after the experiment (until midnight).(對(duì)狀語(yǔ)強(qiáng)調(diào)）
It was until midnight that he didn't go back home after the experiment.(×）
It was not until midnight that he went go back home after the experiment.(√）
Until midnigh he didn't go back home after the experiment.(×）
Not until midnigh did he go back home after the experiment.(√）
強(qiáng)調(diào)句型不強(qiáng)調(diào)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞，若強(qiáng)調(diào)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞可在其之前加do,does或did
She does get up very early every morning.
6.schedule n.[C](P18)時(shí)間表，速度表，計(jì)劃表
the schedule of class 課程表
他們安排了一個(gè)緊湊的旅行日程。
The have planed a tight schedule of travel.
ahead of schedule/time 提前
如果沒(méi)有什么阻礙的話，這項(xiàng)任務(wù)將提前完成。
The task will be finished ahead of schedule.
if nothing prevents.
behind schedule 落后于計(jì)劃
on schedule 按時(shí)間表，準(zhǔn)時(shí)
他總是準(zhǔn)時(shí)上學(xué)。
